Dr. Gray, Dr Syn, Dr. Belova and the staff of Almaden Dental Associates live in the community and raise our families in the Bay Area. Not lost on us is how fortunate we are to have had a patient base over the last 25 years that we consider our friends and family. With that blessing, we have a responsibility to give back to our community. We at Almaden Dental Associates believe that we have a responsibility to give back to the community. In our 25 years of practice in San Jose, we have supported our community through good times and bad. We have watched some of our young patients choose a careers in dentistry and we have developed long relationships with families, some spanning 4 generations. In our Family Practice, community service has always been a family affair as we strive to pass the importance of community service to the next generation.
Here are some projects that we have completed over the last couple years.
Give Kids A Smile 2011
This years annual California Dental Society sponsored “Give Kids a Smile” program took place at Washington lementary School for the 3rd year in a row. The objective of the program this year was to screen for kids who may have difficulty obtaining basic dental care, and help them get much needed work. Dr. Gray and Dr. Belova screened patients while Kathy and Jolleen assisted. It was a great day for all.

In June of 2010, Almaden Dental Associates donated dental supplies to the Global Brigade of UC Berkeley . With the help of CAL students including Mia Syn, the brigade provided much needed medical and dental care in the jungles of Honduras. As you can see in the pictures, the dental chairs in Honduras have a much better view that ours!
Every 15 Minutes- Leland High School 2009
The Every 15 Minutes Program is a program centered around the re-enactment of a fatal accident caused by drinking or texting. The program took a year to plan and in a two day program at Leland, it dramatically instilled teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol while driving. This powerful program challenges students to think about drinking while driving, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved. Almaden Dental Associates was one of the many sponsors, Mia Syn was a key organizer, and Dr. Meng Syn assisted in the planning and creation of the film which wrapped up the event.
Dental Education in the Schools
Almaden Dental Associates and its staff participate in education programs in many of the schools in the surrounding areas. From early education in elementary schools, to career day advice, and high school dental physiology lectures, we donate our staff for such events.
